Someone remade Star Wars, in 3 minutes, using action figures.Roger Ebert has blogged about bad movie theater projection:
I despair. This is a case of Hollywood selling its birthright for a message of pottage. If as much attention were paid to exhibition as to marketing, that would be an investment in the future. People would fall back in love with the movies. Short-sighted, technically illiterate penny-pinchers are wounding a great art form.
Someone on Etsy is selling Big Lebowski coasters.Bleeding Cool talked with Matthew Vaughn about his upcoming Mark Millar-Dave Gibbons super spy project:
I don't like the name. I don't know where he came up with that shitty name. ... I rang up Mark and said I've got this idea, what we did for Kick-Ass, why don't we do this for spy movies? I co-created it with them [Millar and Gibbons]. We're writing that at the moment. We came up with a great plot and great characters and it's weird, because I'm telling it to my kids every night as a story to see what they react to or not. But I've got to make a decision... We both came up with these characters, which are cool, but the problem is, I cannot decide which way to go. I could make it a really great kids film, but I don't want to be Spy Kids, or I could make it really hardcore. You know how Kick-Ass did sort of fall between 'Is this a kids movie or is it an adult's film?' and it's sort of neither, that's the problem I'm having with the super spy thing because the plot is great and the characters are great but I haven't worked out the tone.

Star Trek rap: Data's Ode to Spot.Matthew Vaughn explains why Kick-Ass 2 probably won't happen:
Everyone says we're doing Kick-Ass 2 but... the weird thing about Kick-Ass 2 is I'd love to do it, because I enjoyed it so much, but I'm a big believer that if you're going to do a sequel it's got to be as good as the first one if not better. I just don't know how I could... My business brain just says do Kick-Ass 2, shoot it and get it out there and it would make a lot of money but I really do love that movie. It was a special moment to me making that film and I don't want to spoil it. I'm not saying it's as good as Pulp Fiction but I think it would be weird if Tarantino did Pulp Fiction 2. Everything that made Kick-Ass original and fun, if you do it again, it would be crass...
