Tribeca 2020 Line-Up Includes 'The Trip To Greece,' Judd Apatow's 'The King Of Staten Island,' 'Shirley,' And More

The Tribeca Film Festival is coming in with a super-sized line-up of feature films, including a number of world premieres and critical hits from other festivals like TIFF, Sundance, and SXSW. The Trip to Greece, The King of Staten Island, Shirley, and the TIFF hit Bad Education are among the movies featured in the Tribeca 2020 line-up, which includes 115 films from 124 filmmakers across 33 different countries. The annual New York City-based film festival runs from April 15–26 and will, for the first time ever, also make its way to New Jersey.

You can always count on the annual Tribeca Film Festival for featuring a combination of new films from first-time directors alongside some of the best hits from other festivals — but the Robert de Niro-founded festival is not without its own exciting slate of world premieres.

The newly-announced line-up includes 95 world premieres, 2 international premieres, 4 North American premieres, 4 U.S. premieres, and 9 New York premieres, as well as one sneak preview. One of those world premieres is Michael Winterbottom's fourth entry in his Trip franchise, The Trip to Greece, which stars Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan returning to eat their way across Greece and do more Michael Caine impressions. Also premiering at Tribeca is Alice Wu's long-awaited sophomore film The Half of It, Andrew Irvine's Catherine Keener-starring drama No Future, Jamie Babbitt's Drew Barrymore rom-com The Stand-In, Gabriel Range's David Bowie biopic Stardust, and Brent Wilson's documentary Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road.

Tribeca also features some festival favorites, including Cory Finley's TIFF hit Bad Education, Josephine Decker's Elisabeth Moss and Michael Stuhlbarg-starring Shirley, Julie Delpy's My Zoe, Judd Apatow's SXSW opener The King of Staten Island, and Ron Howard's documentary Rebuilding Paradise.

"This year's festival embraces the unique power of film to bring people together — whether that's literally the communal experience of watching a film in a packed theater, or the more intangible way a great film can make you empathize with a stranger's struggle," festival director Cara Cusumano said in an official statement. "In an election year where we will go to the polls to make big decisions about our future together, these films are an opportunity for connection and understanding."
