Whatever Happened To The Actress Who Played Enola In Waterworld?
By LUKE Y. THOMPSON
Sitcom Starts
Tina Majorino's first big acting break came when she was seven on the sitcom "Camp Wilder," but it only had 20 episodes, the last of which never aired in the U.S.
Movies
Majorino's first movie was 1994's "When a Man Loves a Woman," followed by "Corrina, Corrina," then "Andre." Then came "Waterworld," and her final film, "Santa Fe."
TV Special
In 1999, NBC aired an all-star musical adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland." In the lead role of Alice, surrounded by Hollywood and English stage A-listers, was Majorino.
The show won four Emmys, and Marjorino had songs on the soundtrack. Arguably her biggest and greatest role up to that point, it would also be Tina’s last for a while.
Taking Five
By the time she was 13, her classmates picked on Marjorino, so she stepped away from the spotlight to get to know herself and build her confidence.
"You have a lot of power...therefore you use that power to do good, and I felt like I didn't want to give up on that, and I really missed the craft,” she said to the Daily Emerald.
Napoleon Dynamite
Marjorino’s comeback was in "Napoleon Dynamite.” Jon Heder may have been the most visible star of the movie, but Majorino shined as his sort-of love interest Deb.
