The Only Surviving Stars Of The Big Valley
By JEREMY SMITH
Given that the Western show "The Big Valley" ended in 1969, it’s little surprise that only two actors from it are still alive today: Lee Majors and Linda Evans.
Lee Majors was in his mid-20s when he landed his first major role as Heath Barkley on "The Big Valley." However, Majors was a touch too stolid to be a major movie star.
He had two more major roles in "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "The Fall Guy," but then mostly played supporting parts or curtain calls in the "Six Million Dollar Man" TV movies.
After her role in "The Big Valley," Linda Evans was seen more as a sex symbol than a serious actor, and her most memorable movie role was the lousy cop thriller "Mitchell."
When her next television triumph, "Dynasty," ended in 1989, she gradually drew back from acting altogether. Today, she is 81 years old and functionally retired.
