The Friends Cast Members Still Make Millions From Residuals
By PAULI POISUO
At the late-game heights of the show's powers, the cast of "Friends" got paid as much as $1 million per episode each — and the money didn't stop coming after the show ended.
As of 2015, the syndicated sitcom continued to rake in an estimated $1 billion annually, which has continued to earn the six stars as much as $20 million per year in residuals.
Though unconfirmed, this figure most recently went up in the wake of Perry's passing, and since "Friends" is still popular, it makes sense that the residuals continue to be hefty.
The show has been a streaming hit, and Netflix first licensed it for $30 million a year. In addition, 2021's "Friends: The Reunion" earned each of the cast members $2.5 million.
