“The Flash.”
Andy Muschietti’s “The Flash” sees the titular hero travel into an alternate timeline, where the Kryptonian who crashed on Earth isn’t Superman but instead his cousin Supergirl.
Imprisoned in a concrete silo, Supergirl escapes with the Flash and Batman’s help and brutally defeats her captors; however, the sequence was originally far more violent.
Supergirl actress Sasha Calle said, “The silo scene was a lot longer. Yeah, there was ... I did a loooot of stunts for that scene. And some, I think, we’re a little too ‘rated R.’”
The actress shared her love of doing her stunts and was upset to learn they were cut from the film, adding, “I would love to see the wholeness of those shots.”
While these extended scenes didn’t make it into the theatrical cut, there could be a chance for an R-rated extended cut of “The Flash” in the future.
As the DC Extended Universe — the Snyderverse — ends, an extended version with the cut stunts could be the only chance to see Calle’s Supergirl as she was intended.
