In Season 5 of “Fargo,” Juno Temple’s Dot and Jon Hamm’s Sheriff Roy Tillman have been careening toward one another, and in Episode 8, they reunite in a spectacular, violent way.
Dot ends up chained to the floor in a small outbuilding on Roy's ranch, and the two have a knock-down, drag-out fight that showcases how brutal and vicious the sheriff truly is.
Temple told Entertainment Weekly, “I thought that [scene] was absolutely terrifying just when I read it, [...] I was just like, 'Wow.' [...] Not everybody needs to watch it.”
On the closed set, Temple didn’t do the stunts but did have a realization while watching her stunt double in the proper protective gear: “normally, women don't get a crash helmet.”
Temple even created a tent for people to come unwind in, with flowers and fairy lights to help with more stressful moments. She tried to cultivate a sense of safety for everyone.
“Fargo” has been fairly sensitive this season in its treatment of domestic violence, even using marionettes to tell the most disturbing parts of Dot’s history with ex-husband Roy.
