Steve Carell Made John Krasinski Cry During IF’s Office Cast Reunion
By HANNAH SHAW-WILLIAMS
Nearly twenty years have passed since John Krasinski's debut as Jim Halpert in “The Office.” Since then, he's evolved into a successful director, notably with “A Quiet Place.”
Krasinski reflected with Total Film magazine, stating, “It's very hard to step outside of your comfort zone — all the way from 'The Office,' to deciding to do a genre movie.”
The film he refers to is “IF,” featuring a big purple creature named Blue, voiced by a fellow “The Office” veteran, and seen only by two characters, Bea and her upstairs neighbor.
Sharing his experience, Krasinski described "IF" as a "huge departure, and a big swing." Fortunately, he had an old friend from his comfort zone along for the ride, Steve Carell.
He added, “As much fun as it was to work with him, the most powerful part about it was he came in with the most heartfelt speech about how proud he is of me to be making movies.”
Reminiscing on previous memories of working on set with Carell, Krasinski expected nothing less than to be “laughing all day,” but was surprised that he “was crying all day.”
