Mike Myers & Dana Carvey Hated All Of Wayne’s World’s Headbanging

“Wayne’s World” was one of the few “Saturday Night Live” skits popular enough to get a movie, but it led to rumors that star Mike Myers was difficult to work with during filming.
Director Penelope Spheeris shared Myers was unhappy with certain things, like the iconic lip-syncing scene to “Bohemian Rhapsody,” a sequence he and Dana Carvey apparently hated.
Spheeris said, “They hated banging their head in the car. It hurt. [Metallica’s] James Hetfield, all those headbangers, they’re used to it. These guys weren’t used to doing that.”
She further explained that the pain was starting to get bad: “They started asking for Advil on the set. The worst part is Mike said not only does it hurt, it’s not funny.”
According to Spheeris, Myers missed the test screenings and the positive feedback for the scene. He had to watch the movie alone, which is why he maybe thought it wasn’t funny.
