Judi Dench Can't Compare Pierce Brosnan And Daniel Craig As James Bond
By JOSHUA MEYER AND HANNAH SHAW-WILLIAMS
Judi Dench first appeared in the 1995 film “GoldenEye” as the head of MI6 and James Bond’s boss, M, and though Dench’s character met her end during “Skyfall,” the actress made one last appearance as M in “Spectre” via a pre-recorded video. Dench was with the franchise for 20 years and worked alongside two iterations of the legendary superspy, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.
Having worked with both actors, Dench shared her opinion, saying, “Daniel’s an incredible talent and I love working with him but I still miss Pierce. He was a very warm man and always a lot of fun, always laughing and joking. Pierce was great to have around the set. We became close friends. I did four Bonds with him so I missed him after he finished with the role.”
Both Brosnan and Craig revitalized the “James Bond” franchise with “GoldenEye” and “Casino Royale,” respectively. Dench added, “There's no comparison between him and Daniel. They're completely different actors but both are brilliant men with a fantastic sense of humor, very self-mocking, which you need to play Bond.”
