If Jackie Brown Had An Unlimited Budget, Quentin Tarantino Know Who He'd Cast
By MATT RAINIS
After several low-key decades for Pam Grier and Robert Forster, the two actors delivered career-best performances in Quentin Tarantino’s “Jackie Brown.” However, on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, Tarantino shared that if "Jackie Brown" had an unlimited budget, he might have casted bigger stars to play the leads.
Tarantino divulged two more bankable actors who could theoretically have replaced Grier and Forster: “It would have been Angela Bassett and Robert De Niro." However, Tarantino clearly wanted to work with two brilliant actors who had seemingly peaked in the ‘70s (he even wrote the script for them specifically).
Considering the film's modest stars, Tarantino was aware of his impact on the success of “Jackie Brown.” He boasted, “We made $30 million dollars with a movie starring Pam Grier and Robert Forester. … I can make a movie with [them], and it can do well because I made it? That's the reason to be f***ing famous."
