Genndy Tartakovsky Has Finally Gotten Started On His R-Rated Animated Movie
By RAFAEL MOTAMAYOR
Known for his work on “Hotel Transylvania,” “Samurai Jack,” and “Star Wars: Clone Wars,” Genndy Tartakovsky has now begun production of his adult animated movie “Fixed.” Tartakovsky described it as “The rated-R 2D animated movie about a dog who finds out he's gonna get neutered in the morning, and what does he do with his next 24 hours?”
He continued that the movie is “gonna look really good, and it's got heart, but then it's got the super raunch. I've never really seen anything like it.” The film has entered production at Sony Pictures Animation, which is no stranger to raunchiness, as they were the ones behind “Sausage Party.”
Despite his success, Tartakovsky has had many failures and said, “Look, this is Hollywood. One day, it's anything you want to do. The next day, I can't get a job.” Tartakovsky's unique stories and distinct style have made him one of the best minds working in animation today, having two shows — “Unicorn: Eternal Warriors” and Season 2 of “Primal” — in development, with the latter scheduled for release on July 21, 2022.
