Every Law & Order Season Ranked Worst to Best
By SAMANTHA JACOBS
22. Season 21
Fans of “Law & Order” waited over a decade for a new season of the classic show, but their high expectations were not met. There are no zippy jokes or sarcastic comments that give the series its distinctive New York City vibe, so the dialogue is terrible, and it looks like these talented actors are struggling through conversations.
21. Season 22
Season 22 is stronger than its predecessor, but the show is still lacking when it comes to dialogue, which remains cringeworthy — almost everyone is on a soapbox. The characters ADA Samantha Maroun and junior detective Jalen Shaw go downhill throughout the season and become one-dimensional and flat.
20. Season 15
Detective Joe Fontana replaces beloved detective Lennie Briscoe in Season 15, but the new replacement isn’t well-liked by viewers. Another temporary replacement includes detective Nick Falco, who is paired with Fontana — together, they’re an annoying duo, making this season almost unbearable to watch.
19. Season 2
Season 2 follows detectives Mike Logan and Phil Cerreta after Logan’s first partner, Max Greevey, dies. The new partnership is anything but harmonious for a while, but when the detectives become closer, the two end up being partners in shady police work entirely too often for this to be a worthwhile season.
18. Season 16
This season was messy behind the scenes, as several cast members like Annie Parisse and Dennis Farina left the show, and their departures completely overshadowed the rest of the season finale. On-screen, the season is all over the place with the worst-behaved characters outdoing previous bad behavior without facing consequences.
