Certain Parts Of Star Trek: Picard Made Patrick Stewart ‘Uncomfor-table’
By DANIELLE RYAN
Patrick Stewart sat down with the Los Angeles Times to discuss Season 3 of “Star Trek: Picard” and revealed that certain elements of the show made him uneasy.
Stewart shared, “There were some things about ‘Picard’ I was uncomfortable with, when I thought it was nudging its way toward being a reunion show.”
Season 3 of “Picard” joyfully reunited the “Next Generation” cast and gave audiences the closure that the films never did, but there was some fanservice that felt too on-the-nose.
There were plenty of moments that walked a thin line between feeling nostalgic and overly sentimental, and the show’s penultimate episode of Season 3 was the most guilty of all.
“Picard” brought back beloved characters, resurrected old storylines from “Next Generation” and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” and even restored the long-lost Enterprise-D.
Sometimes it was a fun romp down memory lane, but other times it was like being bludgeoned to death by Member Berries, which understandably could’ve rub Stewart the wrong way.
