In Season 16, Episode 5 of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” Bryan Cranston makes a cameo and channels his iconic “Breaking Bad” character Walter White.
“Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul also appears in the episode. He and Cranston are doing a business venture in Philadelphia because Cranston lost all of his money from gambling.
Paul bosses Cranston around and forbids him from shaking anyone's hand, but when Cranston shakes Dennis’ hand against Paul’s wishes, the dark side of Cranston's psyche activates.
“Maybe being in the alcohol business places your head so far out in front of you that you don't even realize that your neck is exposed,” he says to Paul in an intimidating growl.
Cranston adds, “Enough to be lopped by a public so thirsty to taste the blood of greedy celebrities... So when they come, and they will, who are they gonna come after, huh?”
Throughout Cranston’s speech, the repeated question of “Who is in charge?” becomes a clear reference to Walter White's famous “Say my name” scene in “Breaking Bad.”
Cranston doesn't stay in Heisenberg mode for long. “And, scene,” he says, revealing that his speech was a fun little act to reminisce about his days starting out in the theater.
