In a 2021 Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA), actress Lynda Carter, famous for her role as Wonder Woman in the 1970s TV adaptation, shared insights about a memorable helicopter stunt.
From the 1950s to the 1980s, hour-long television action shows followed a formula for working-class viewers looking to escape their lives.
Following this trend in the 1970s, television shows made helicopter stunts popular and enticing while “Wonder Woman” was filming, and Carter had caught the bug.
When Carter saw the chance to join the helicopter action, she literally grabbed it and didn't let go. This is because the stunt crew had her hanging by her hands from one.
Over 50 years have passed since the stunt and Carter freely spoke about it in a Reddit Ask Me Anything, stating, “I got into trouble because I wasn't supposed to do that!”
