POTD: 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Covers 'Vanity Fair'
Star Wars: The Force Awakens has made it onto the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. Old-timers Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca are joined by three of the saga's newest heroes, Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and BB-8. It's been something of a tradition for Star Wars to cover Vanity Fair. Each of the three prequels got its own splashy feature in the magazine, as you can see below:
Rumor had it Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy wanted a Vanity Fair photographer on set during the production of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in keeping with that tradition, but that director J.J. Abrams nixed that idea. The cover above suggests they managed to work something out after all.
The Vanity Fair June 2015 issue should hit newsstands in early- to mid-May. Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18.
