Christian Slater And Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Added To Cast Of Sylvester Stallone/Walter Hill Action Movie
The film formerly called Headshot just got a shot of Slater. Christian Slater, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Holt McCallany have all joined the cast of the now-untitled movie that Walter Hill will direct based upon the graphic novel Bullet to the Head. In addition, we've got confirmation that Sung Kang (Fast Five) will play the sidekick role to Sylvester Stallone — i.e., the part that Thomas Jane was initially hired to play.
Here's the recap of the basic plot of the Alessandro Camon script (which Walter Hill was rewriting) as we've previously reported it:
[Stallone teams]with a young NYPD detective in a high-stakes investigation that leads from the dingy back alleys of New Orleans all the way to the power corridors of Washington, D.C. The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge.
Variety has the new report, which says that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play the villain of the film, "a powerful attorney who's trying to cover up his scam to exploit poor neighborhoods that have been ravaged by Hurricane Katrina." Christian Slater will be "a local handler who acts as a middleman," and Holt McCallany will play "a dirty cop who's partners with Kang."
Warner Bros. will distribute the eventual film, which also features Jason Momoa in a villainous role as Keegan, and Fairly Legal's Sarah Shahi playing Sylvester Stallone's daughter.
