Who Is More Dangerous In The Boys Season 3: Homelander Or Victoria Neuman?
There are a lot of dangerous people in the world of the Prime Studios superhero series "The Boys." Some of them are on the side of relative good, like the talented and empathetic Starlight (Erin Moriarty) or the butt-kicking Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara). Then there's the sociopathic Superman knock-off Homelander (Antony Starr) and the head of the Federal Bureau of Superhuman Affairs, Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), who are not so altruistic.
Victoria seemed like one of the good guys at first, and by season 3 Hughie (Jack Quaid) is even working for her ... but anyone who can explode heads with a mere thought has the potential to be very, very dangerous. The congresswoman's body count already includes Butcher's late FBI ally Susan Raynor, Church of the Collective leader Alastair Adana, and a significant number of attendees at the Congressional hearing that was supposed to reveal Vought's dirty secrets to the world.
So who stands to be a bigger threat to The Boys and the rest of the world? Is it the megalomaniac with mommy issues and a milk fetish, or the mysterious bureaucrat with terrifying telekinesis? Let's take a look.
Spoilers for episodes 1 and 2 of "The Boys" season 3 ahead.
Two high-powered supes with conflicting goals
Hughie discovered Neuman's secret supe status in the first episode of "The Boys" season 3, when he followed her into an alleyway and witnessed as she popped an old friend who stopped by for a chat like a human balloon. We know that Victoria is capable of murdering just about anyone who gets in her way, which is the same kind of evil behavior you might expect from Homelander. She does seem to have goals beyond her own success and survival, however, though her long game has yet to be fully revealed.
Homelander, on the other hand, tends to only care about himself and his day-to-day experiences, which makes him a bit more of a wild card. Both of these powerful people have one major weakness, and it's a shared one: their children. Neuman would do anything to protect her daughter, while Homelander has shown that the only person besides himself that he has the capacity to care for is his son. The one other thing holding them back is a desire to preserve their respective public images — though Homelander is learning to his delight that a lot of Americans may be ready to embrace his monstrous side.
But who would win?
In a fair fight, it's hard to tell who would win between Homelander and Neuman because they both have incredible powers. Homelander is superhuman in almost every way: he has super strength, speed, invulnerability, laser eyes, and he can fly. He also has heightened senses, which might be the one thing that gives him the upper hand on Neuman.
Victoria's main power is popping heads like grapes using her mind, which she could possibly do to Homelander, but she would have to get the drop on him. If she could find some way to sneak up on the caped creep without him hearing, she might be able to take him out. Then again, that invulnerability could potentially apply to her popping powers, too. We don't yet know if Homelander has a hard shell with a squishy interior (like Translucent) or if his insides are as indestructible as his outside. Homelander himself doesn't seem particularly worried; he even challenges Neuman to try popping his head during a confrontation.
It would be a total toss-up between these two, but one thing's for sure: they can both kill a lot of people very quickly, and they're both willing to do so. Perhaps they could wipe one another out and save The Boys a lot of trouble. Then all they would have to worry about is Soldier Boy.
