Let The Dune Merch Flow At Funko's Flagship Hollywood Store
Do you love Funko and Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's "Dune," due out in theaters on October 22? If so, you're in luck! Funko's flagship Hollywood store is having a "Dune" celebration, where you can peruse and purchase the "Dune" Pop! Figures, check out some props from the movie, and even pretend you're a "Dune" Pop! yourself by getting a photo op inside a life-size "Dune"-wrapped Pop! box.
Curious to learn more or sadly can't make the event, which runs from October 1-15? /Film had the chance to get a sneak peek of the event, and has pictures to prove it. Read on to see the "Dune" Figures and movie artifacts the store has on display.
Fremkits, Crysknives, and More
Funko's Hollywood store has the "Dune" Pop! Figures, of course. Each major character seems to have gotten one, from the best dad with the best beard, Duke Leto Atreides (played by Oscar Isaac in the 2021 film), to the odious and eyebrow-less Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård), to Feyd-Ratha, a major baddie from the book who actually isn't even in the Villeneuve film but was played by Sting in the 1984 version.
The store also has two limited edition versions of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) — one where he has spiced blue eyes the nose plug, and one with him in a Fremen stillsuit, mask and all. The other figurines include Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), Chani (Zendaya), and Duncan Idaho (Jason Momoa).
Here's also an image of the life-size Funko Pop! box, if you love the "Dune" Figurines so much you want to pretend to be one:
The exhibit also has more than just Pop! Figurines. There's also a display of several objects used in the Villeneuve film, which will titillate any "Dune" fan. At the store, guests can get up close and personal with both the Atreides blades Paul and Duncan Idaho use (and Gurney Halleck, though Gurney, played by Josh Brolin in the film, sadly didn't get his own Pop! Figurine).
Other items from the film include a Fremkit, which Paul and his mom, Lady Jessica carry with them at some point in the film. The exhibit also has a sand compactor and the memorable pain box, the item that proved to the Bene Gesserit that Paul might be the oh-so-special chosen one.
The "Dune" special event runs at Funko Hollywood from October 1-15, 2021. The store's hours are Wednesday–Friday from 12-6 P.M. and 10 A.M.-6 P.M. Saturday and Sunday. Masks are required because we are still in a global pandemic. The movie, "Dune," directed by Denis Villeneuve (check out /Film's review here) premieres in theaters and on HBO Max on October 22, 2021.
