Bob's Burgers: The Movie: Release Date, Cast, And More
(Welcome to ...And More, our no-frills, zero B.S. guide to when and where you can watch upcoming movies and shows, and everything else you could possibly stand to know.)
Now in its 12th season, "Bob's Burgers" centers on Bob Belcher, his wife Linda, and their children Tina, Gene, and Louise, and their ridiculous hijinks running a burger restaurant while dealing with the trials and tribulations of lower working-class life. "Bob's Burgers" is arguably one of the best adult animated series on television today and quickly developed a die-hard fanbase (proud member here). The lovable Belcher family is finally getting their own movie and we have all the details you need and so much more.
Bob's Burgers: The Movie Release Date and Where You Can Watch It
"Bob's Burgers: The Movie" is coming to theaters May 27, 2022 as a Memorial Day weekend release. There's no real way to predict what the streaming availability will be like by then, but we will keep you updated as things progress closer to the release date.
What is Bob's Burgers: The Movie About?
After the announcement of the film, series creator Loren Bouchard said:
"We're thrilled to be invited to bring Bob's Burgers to the big screen. We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who've never seen the show. We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob's, but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?"
The official "Bob's Burgers" Twitter account gave a look at the poster, with the hairy arm of Bob Belcher flipping a burger patty in front of the distinctive yellow background.

Nothing has been revealed regarding the plot of "Bob's Burgers: The Movie," but we do know for sure that the film will feature musical numbers just like the series. Additionally, Bouchard mentioned at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 that the film will include Louise reuniting with her precious Kuchi Kopi, leading many to speculate that the fever dream fantasy world of Kuchi Kopi, as seen in the episode "Flu-ouise," will show up as at least a minor subplot.
Bob's Burgers: The Movie Director, Crew, and More
Series creator Loren Bouchard will write, direct, and produce the film as a joint production with 20th Century Animation, 20th Century Family, Bento Box Entertainment, and Wilo Productions. This is the debut feature from Bouchard, and Jim Dauterive is reportedly co-writing the script.
"Bob's Burgers: The Movie" serves as the final animation work for both prolific animator Tuck Tucker and legendary Disney animator Dale Baer before their deaths at the end of 2020 and early 2021, respectively. The film is also the first hand-drawn animated film to be theatrically released by Disney since Walt Disney Animation Studios' "Winnie the Pooh" in 2011 and the second theatrical feature film based on a Fox animated series, following "The Simpsons Movie."
Bob's Burgers: The Movie Cast
The standard voice cast has all been announced, with H. Jon Benjamin as Bob Belcher, John Roberts as Linda Belcher, Dan Mintz as Tina Belcher, Eugene Mirman as Gene Belcher, Kristen Schaal as Louise Belcher, Larry Murphy as Teddy, and Sam Seder as Hugo. In an interview with Observer, star H. Jon Benjamin confirmed that work on the film was being done remotely due to COVID-19 and that voice recording had also begun. There's no word on whether or not we'll see the usual co-stars like Tammy, The Pesto Family, Zeke, Mr. Fischoeder, Regular Sized Rudy, or Aunt Gayle, but it's hard to imagine they'd make a movie without them.
Here's hoping we get an appearance by my girl Marshmallow with her new voice actor.
