The Morning Watch: The Comedic Genius Of Mr. Bean, Liam Neeson Auditions For Cupid & More
The Morning Watch is a recurring feature that highlights a handful of noteworthy videos from around the web. They could be video essays, fanmade productions, featurettes, short films, hilarious sketches, or just anything that has to do with our favorite movies and TV shows.
In this edition, a new video essay takes a closer look at the impressive physical comedy of Mr. Bean, or rather the man who brings him to life. Plus, Taken star Liam Neeson auditions to play Cupid in a new movie, and Nicolas Cage gets quizzed on movie quotes from his own movies. Watch them all below.
First up, a new video essay from Nerdwriter looks at the British comedy character Mr. Bean, played by Rowan Atkinson, and explores why the actor's brand of physical comedy is so incredible. While Atkinson is probably most famous for portraying the silent, slapstick character, there are plenty more impressive physical, comedic performances he's given throughout his career that you can see on display here.
After previously auditioning to play the kind of Santa Claus that would terrify your children, Liam Neeson came back to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to audition for the role of another holiday icon: Cupid. Of course, this is the kind of Cupid who will probably kill you with his arrows rather than strike you with the feelings of love.
Finally, while making the press rounds for his new movie Mandy at Sundance, with co-star Andrea Riseborough, actor Nicolas Cage was given a little quiz on movie quotes from his own movies. After making so many movies, does Cage still remember lines from the films he made years and years ago? Find out by watching above.
