'Inhumans' Movie "Will Happen For Sure", Could Happen In Phase 4 Says Kevin Feige
Marvel Studios' Inhumans movie was announced at the now infamous El Capitan Phase Three event, only later to be dogged by cancellation rumors before being yanked from Disney's release calendar altogether. While many fans have assumed that we'll never see an Inhumans movie, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says it will eventually happen, it's just a matter of when. Hit the jump to hear what Feige said about the Inhumans movie and the possibility of seeing it on the big screen as part of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When I talked to Marvel head Kevin Feige a couple of weeks back, I pressed him for an update on the Inhumans movie. Is that ever going to happen now that it has been removed from the release schedule? Feige insists it will.
I think Inhumans will happen for sure. I don't know when. I think it's happening on television. And I think as we get into Phase 4 as I've always said, it could happen as a movie. I think it would be super cool.
We know that Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will conclude with the two-part Avengers: Infinity War films (yes, we are aware the second movie is no longer titled Infinity War Part II). That fourth Avengers film won't hit theaters until May 3rd, 2019, but Disney has already earmarked three dates for 2020 (May 1, July 10, and November 6). Might one of those dates be the Inhumans movie? It's possible. Inhumans was one of the many possibilities that /Film editor Angie Han named while speculating about the dates.
As for the storyline, I guess that the Marvel movies won't acknowledge the Inhumans storyline that happened on Agents of SHIELD, because, why would they. I'm sure whenever they do get around to the Inhumans storyline on the big screen it will be something fresh and new.
For those of you who have never read the Inhumans comics, here is an excellent primer explaining who the Inhumans are and what they might bring to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
