'Westworld' Season 1 Finale Will Blow Your Mind, Says Evan Rachel Wood
We are only four episodes into the ten episode first season of HBO's Westworld, and we're already wondering where the show could possibly be headed. Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood adds some more fuel to that fire, revealing that the last two episodes of the season will blow our minds and break out hearts. Find out exactly what Wood said about the Westworld season 1 finale, after the jump.
Evan Rachel Wood, who plays Dolores Abernathy in the series, recently told The Huffington Post that the end of Westworld Season 1 will shock fans. According to Wood, "the surprises will floor you" and we should prepare for episodes 9 and 10 in particular "to have your heart broken and your mind blown."
"We're getting out of Sweetwater and getting deeper into the park, on the outskirts. We've established that the farther out you go, the more intense the game gets, and man, were they not kidding because when we started getting the scripts after episodes five, and episode five, it was like, 'Whoa! OK!'" Wood said. "Not only are they dropping bombs left and right, but some of the days on set, I would be like, 'Look, I've seen some stuff, and this is WILD,'" said Wood, later adding: "It will only continue to get more and more intense and more relentless. We've set everything up really beautifully and the payoffs are going to start hitting you one by one."
You can watch a clip of the actress saying some of these things above. Regardless of theories, I had heard rumblings that the middle of the season is not as good as the first four episodes, but Wood is getting me very excited for the second half of the season.
Also, Wood is beginning to convince me that some of the wilder Westworld theories may be true, but according to the actress, she has read over 100 theories on Reddit and websites "and only three were right."
And now that she mentions this, I have to guess. So if you haven't been reading any of the theories, please turn away now.
Have you turned away? Speculation about possible spoilers follow...
Here are the 3 Westworld theories that I think will end up being true:
1. Westworld is not set on Earth: We don't know if it's set on Mars or another planet, but it seems likely that the park is set somewhere else.
2. The Man in William Theory: I know many of you believe this theory has been debunked, but I still think we'll learn that William (aka Billy) is a younger version of The Man in Black and that we are seeing stories from two different time periods intercut.
3. Bernard Is A Robot: I think we'll learn that not only is Bernard a robot, but he's a sentient version of Doctor Ford's former partner Arnold.
And there is also the possibility that Westworld is one of a group of DELOS destination parks, although it seems like we won't see any of them this season.
What do you think? Are there any other Westworld theories that might be one of the three that Wood says is correct?
Westworld airs Sunday at 9:00 p.m. on HBO.
