First 'War For The Planet Of The Apes' Teaser Comes With A Dire Warning
20th Century Fox plans to reveal the first footage from War for the Planet of the Apes at a New York Comic-Con event later tonight. But before we get there, they've got a little something to whet your appetite. The first War for the Planet of the Apes teaser is here, and it comes with a dire warning: "War has begun." Watch it below.
The War for the Planet of the Apes teaser has Andy Serkis' Caesar materializing out of snow, and then getting blown away. While there's no actual footage from the movie, there is an interesting bit of dialogue. Caesar warns, "You must go before the fighting begins. I'm sorry. War has begun."
Of course, none of us are planning to go before the fighting begins. The fighting is what we're here to see. And it sounds like there will be plenty of it, based on the official synopsis revealed last week:
In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
We'll be reporting from the War for the Planet of the Apes New York Comic-Con panel taking place tonight, and posting the footage as it becomes available. Watch this space.
War for the Planet of the Apes is in theaters July 14, 2017. Matt Reeves is directing and Serkis stars with Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Judy Greer, Karin Konoval, Amiah Miller, and Terry Notary.
