Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Trailer
Here is the first Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales trailer:
The trailer focuses on the film's villain Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), a powerful, merciless ghost pirate trapped in the Devil's Triangle. I'm not sure I love the CG on this zombie-like gang of pirates, but you can certainly see why Disney decided to air this spot during the Fear The Walking Dead finale.
It's interesting that Johnny Depp is nowhere to be found in the first teaser trailer, probably for the better considering the recent controversy surrounding the actor. I think it's a mistake to start the selling of this film with something so serious and dark when what most people want from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is swashbuckling fun. But as I alluded to, it's probably wise to keep Depp out of the initial advertising push. But Disney has plenty of time to build up to this Pirates sequel, as it won't hit theaters until next Summer.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is directed by Espen Sandberg & Joachim Rønning (the filmmakers behind Kon-Tiki) from a script by Catch Me If You Can/Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull screenwriter Jeff Nathanson.
Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea...including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas
Johnny Depp reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, alongside Pirates alum Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs and Stephen Graham as Scrum. Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner) and Brenton Thwaites (Maleficent) and Golshifteh Farahani (Exodus: Gods and Kings) make up some of the newcomers who have joined the cast.
It's worth noting that for the first time in the series since Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Hans Zimmer did not compose the music for the film. Instead one of his protégé's, Geoff Zanelli, who had worked on all previous four installments in the franchise, will be writing the film's score
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theaters on May 26th, 2017.
