'Beauty And The Beast' Sneak Peek: Emma Watson And Dan Stevens Share A Moment

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the animated Beauty and the Beast, and Disney's taking this opportunity to remind you they've also got a live-action Beauty and the Beast coming our way next year. The studio has just released a sneak peek at the new film, featuring stars Emma Watson and Dan Stevens and director Bill Condon. Check it out below.

Here's the Beauty and the Beast sneak peek, which is included in the bonus features for the animated Beauty and the Beast's upcoming home video release.

There isn't a ton of new stuff to see in the Beauty and the Beast sneak peek. The shots of Beast's castle are pretty, but we've seen most of them before in the teaser, and that image of Lumière and Cogsworth first made the rounds last week. There is, however, some new stuff to listen to. We get to hear Belle and the Beast talk to each other for the first time thanks to a video from a table read. Belle asks Beast what he's reading, and she points out that the story of Guinevere and Lancelot is a romance, even if he insists on referring to it as "King Arthur and the Round Table."

Disney's remade several of their animated classics at this point including Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty (as Maleficent), Cinderella, and The Jungle Book, but Beauty and the Beast will be the first film from the 1990s Disney Renaissance to get the live-action treatment. The new film certainly has big shoes to fill — even of those Renaissance-era pictures, Beauty and the Beast is considered one of the best.

Beauty and the Beast arrives in theaters March 17, 2017. But you can catch up with the classic animated version before that when the Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary Edition hits Digital HD September 6 and Blu-ray September 20.

The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle's eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston's long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; six-time Tony Award®winner Audra McDonald as Madame Garderobe, the wardrobe; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.

Directed by Oscar® winner Bill Condon based on the 1991 animated film, the screenplay is by Evan Spiliotopoulos and Bill Condon and Stephen Chbosky and is produced by Mandeville Films' David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, with eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards® (Best Original Score and Best Song) for the 1991 animated film, providing the score, which will include new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as several new songs written by Menken and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice. "Beauty and the Beast" will be released in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017.
