Feast Upon New Footage In This 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Extended TV Spot
If you're not busy cooking for the big feast for Thanksgiving tonight, then you can sit back and watch a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens extended TV spot that features some new dialogue from Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis), Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong'o) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), along with some cool new action shots, including what appears to be the weapon inside Starkiller Base being fired as a legion of First Order troops look on.
Enjoy this great appetizer from a galaxy far, far away below!
Here's the Star Wars: The Force Awakens extended TV spot from JoBlo:
As you can see, we finally get an answer to the question as to whether Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) has felt the awakening that was inquired about in the first teaser trailer almost exactly a year ago. Kylo confirms that he has felt the awakening, and then we get some new dialogue from Snoke saying, "Even you have never faced such a test. It is time."
That's a very intriguing line. Snoke seems to imply that Kylo Ren has already faced some big challenges, but that whatever is coming down the road will end up being his real test. That makes me wonder just what else Kylo Ren has been doing this whole time. Will we found out about this seemingly extensive backstory in this movie, or will it be shrouded in mystery for awhile?
Meanwhile, we get some rousing lines from Poe Dameron telling the Resistance pilots to give it everything they've got, and he's either in space or it's nighttime on that particular assault, so that might be from a scene we haven't seen at all yet since all the dogfighting we've seen has been above the surface of planets during the day.
And finally, Maz Kanata also pushes our new heroes by saying "You must face them. Fight them." Considering Finn's advice is to run from the First Order, clearly the new heroes might need some encouragement to stand up against these new villains.
There's a few other cool action shots in there, including that new riot control Stormtrooper getting blasted away. Part of me wonders if there will be a bit where Finn can't do any damage to that soldier with the lightsaber, and then out of nowhere Han Solo blasts him followed by some kind of glance that only Harrison Ford can deliver. We'll find out soon.
