'Zoolander 2' Trailer: Still Really, Really Ridiculously Good-Looking After All These Years
A decade and a half after he saved the Prime Rib of Propecia with the power of a single fierce look, Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) is back in the new trailer for Zoolander 2, along with his BFF Hansel (Owen Wilson). And you know what that means: things are about to get really, really, ridiculously good-looking — and really, really ridiculously stupid — up in here.
Zoolander 2 brings back Will Ferrell as Jacobim Mugatu, and introduces Penelope Cruz as an Interpol agent and Kristen Wiig as a fashion designer. Justin Bieber stars as himself, and Benedict Cumberbatch as... well, you'll see. Watch the Zoolander 2 trailer after the jump.
Paramount dropped the Zoolander 2 trailer on YouTube.
Modeling is a young person's game, and in Zoolander 2 it looks like Derek and Hansel discover to their horror that they are not so young anymore. They're shocked to realize fashion has changed — arguably for the better, since it's now given us Benedict Cumberbatch as an androgynous space alien named All. (Is it too early to start the campaign for his Best Supporting Actor Oscar?) However, it turns out Derek's skills are still relevant after all when a villain sets out to kill the world's most beautiful people — which according to Interpol's files include Demi Lovato, Usher, Justin Bieber, Lenny Kravitz, and Miley Cyrus.
The jokes don't feel quite as fresh as they used to, but it's hard to argue with Hansel throwing stuff at Zoolander to try and bring back that Magnum magic. However, the very best part of the trailer, might be Wiig, who is nearly unrecognizable as what appears to be some unholy combination of Donatella Versace and Lady Gaga.
Zoolander 2 arrives in theaters February 12, 2016. Also starring are Christine Taylor, Billy Zane, Cyrus Arnold, Fred Armisen, Olivia Munn, Kanye West, and many more.
