American Crime Story Trailer

The American Crime Story teaser trailer is short and sweet. A long haunting crane shot reveals Nicole Brown Simpson's dog (the only witness to the crime) barking outside Simpsons' condo on Bundy Drive in Brentwood, where Simpson and Ronald Goldman were stabbed to death in 1994. Here is a clipping from a February 1995 Time Magazine about how the dog played a part in the discovery:

Prosecutors today cited the howls of Nicole Brown Simpson's dog to fix the time of the double murder. Neighbors testified that they heard the barking or saw the dog, an Akita named Kato, between 10:15 and 11 p.m. the night of the murders. Eva Stein, Nicole's next-door neighbor, said she was awakened at around 10:15 by the "very loud barking of dogs." Another neighbor, Steven Schwab, said that while walking his dog at about 10:55 pm, he came across the Akita, which had bloody paws. As Schwab headed home, the dog followed him, he said. "It would howl at every house we passed. It would stop and bark down the path," he said.

The 10-episode limited FX series will chronicle the murder and subsequent court case, the infamous O.J. Simpson trial, told from the perspective of the lawyers as depicted in Jeffrey Toobin's book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

Cuba Gooding Jr. will star as O.J. Simpson, John Travolta as defense attorney Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer as defense attorney Robert Kardashian, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark, Courtney B. Vance as defense attorney Johnnie Cochran, and Bruce Greenwood as Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti. Here is official information about the new show from FX:

Based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin, the limited series is a look at the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers. It explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution overconfidence, defense shrewdness, and the LAPD's history with the city's African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.

Production of the FX limited series is currently underway in Los Angeles. Emmy® and Golden Globe® award winning producer and Emmy Award winning Director Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, The Normal Heart) directed the first episode and serves as Executive Producer, along with Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski and Brad Falchuk. American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson is written by Golden Globe-winning producers Alexander and Karaszewski (Big Eyes, The People v. Larry Flynt). American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

No premiere date is set, but American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson is supposed to premiere sometime in February 2016 on FX.
