Cool Stuff: In Service Of Monsters: A Guillermo Del Toro Art Show Tribute

This Friday night, Gallery 1988 (West) is presenting In Service of Monsters, a group art show in tribute to the films of Guillermo Del Toro's films: Cronos, Mimic, The Devil's Backbone, Blade II. Hellboy, Pan's Labrinth, Hellboy II, Pacific Rim, and Crimson Peak. The art show is curated by Chogrin and Gary Deocampo, and will feature work by dozens of artists reinterpreting del Toro's films in their own unique styles. The In Service of Monsters exhibit will consist of paintings, prints, sculptures and multi-media installations. The show will feature exclusive art from Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, Guy Davis, Glenn Barr, Alex Pardee, Chet Zar, Scott C, James Hance, Chogrin and many others. I'm really hoping there is a print of that Scott C Pacific Rim piece, it looks amazing. I'm excited to see what else is in store for us on Friday.

The opening reception for In Service of Monsters will take place on September 11th 2015 from 7-10 PM at Gallery1988 West Hollywood, which is located West Hollywood of La Brea: 7308 Melrose AvenueLos Angeles, CA 90046. G1988 expects a large crowd for this show, and is advising showing up early.

The In Service of Monsters art show will run through October 3rd 2015. The artwork available after opening night will be made available for purchase online starting September 12th 2015 at gallery1988.com.
