Star Wars: Uprising Gameplay Preview
A minute of gameplay footage isn't a lot to go by, but it actually looks pretty decent for a mobile game. What follows is a post written by Germain Lussier and published on June 4th 2015:
Everything in the Star Wars universe after Return of the Jedi is now a mystery. With the canon reset and stories from the Expanded Universe now set as "Legends," we have no idea how the universe reacted to the fall of Darth Vader and the Emperor. The trailers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens have given very vague hints; now more pieces to the puzzle have been revealed thanks to Star Wars Uprising.
That's the title of a new mobile game that will launch this Fall, which takes place very soon after the destruction of the Death Star. Players can choose various allegiances and go on adventures in a world where most of the galaxy has been rocked by the success of the Rebel Alliance.
Below, see images from Star Wars Uprising, read more about it and watch a trailer which has a fascinating Star Wars narrative.
First up, here's the trailer for the game Uprising.

Realize this – you just watched something in the Star Wars canon. Everything released now is part of the canon so what you saw above, happened.
The visual of characters showing people footage of the second Death Star exploding is so interesting. We know, because we saw the movie, that the Emperor is dead. But how would the rest of the galaxy find out? We've never really explored the dissemination of information in a galaxy far, far away. Some other thoughts include the likelihood that Uprising takes place almost immediately after Jedi (So don't expect any Force Awakens connections) and the question of who that menacing Imperial officer is.

Is it just me, or do the male characters in that poster have an Oscar Isaac vibe? I wonder if either will be named "Dameron."
Finally, if you want to read more about the game, visit the official site. There, if you pre-register for a beta that'll be out later this month, you get a chance to vote on where the story will go once the full version hits mobile devices in the Fall.
