The Ten Most Overpaid Actors Of 2014
Actors have been "overpaid" for a long time. For the past few decades the biggest stars were getting 10, 20, 30 million dollars for a movie that maybe wasn't even that good. Recently, things have begun to go away from that huge upfront sum. No, stars are taking less money upfront for more options on the back end. That encourages a better product, but also creates much bigger pay days. Sandra Bullock made around $75 million for Gravity. Robert Downey Jr. around $100 million for The Avengers. But somehow, you're okay with that because the movies are good and they took a gamble at the beginning.
Most of these stars did not take a gamble and, in most cases, you can't blame them. Forbes has complied their list of the ten most overpaid actors of 2014. They look at the "last three films each actor starred in before June 2014," add the grosses, then divide by the total salary. What's left is a return on investment number. The amount of money each actor grosses for every $1 paid. None of them lose money, but some make less than others. Read the most overpaid actors 2014 list.

Forbes' Most Overpaid Actors 2014 List
If you read the Forbes article, it's got the breakdown for a few of the actors – the movies made, salaries, etc. It also admits it's not a fool proof system but, still, it's pretty interesting. It's especially interesting when you realize Sandler has topped the list the past two years. Maybe that's why he signed a lucrative deal with Netflix, fearing his stock is dropping.
What do you think of the list?
