Léa Seydoux Tipped As Femme Fatale In 'Bond 24'
Let's say it: Bond is the Warmest Color. OK, that's out of the way. Bond 24 is set to shoot in just over a month under the direction of Sam Mendes, and now we may have the first official new cast member. Léa Seydoux, of Blue is the Warmest Color and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (above), will reportedly have a prominent role in the film.
Baz Bamigboye at The Daily Mail reports vague details of Lea Seydoux in Bond 24, saying she has signed on for the film's femme fatale role — a part originally written with a Scandinavian background, but revamped to be French. Beyond that, all info remains secret.
Here's your trivia: Seydoux will be the first Bond girl with a Palme d'Or. In an usual turn of events, she and Adèle Exarchopoulos shared the award for Blue Is the Warmest Color with director Abdellatif Kechiche when the film won at Cannes in 2013. (I want to say she'll be the first Palme d'Or winner to be in a Bond film, period, but I'm afraid I'm forgetting some tiny cameo.)
Bond 24, the true title of which has not been revealed, will start up with a script read at the end of November, and should begin shooting starting in December. Returning cast members include Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris. Hoyte van Hoytema (Her, Interstellar) will be the film's cinematographer.Just as we don't know the title of the film, the story remains a mystery. The only clue is that this film will directly continue on from the end of Skyfall in some manner, and further explore relationships between the characters as seen last time. John Logan scripted the original draft, then Neal Purvis and Robert Wade were brought in for a polish over the summer.Bond 24 is set for release on October 23, 2015 in the UK and November 6, 2015 in the US.
