Amy Adams Eyes Denis Villeneuve's 'Story Of Your Life'
Amy Adams has worked with some pretty impressive directors in the past, and now she's adding Denis Villeneuve to her list. The American Hustle actress is in early talks to star in Villeneuve's Story of Your Life, a sci-fi thriller about an alien landing. The script by Eric Heisserer landed on the Black List in 2012. Hit the jump to find out whom Adams will be playing and more.Story of Your Life is an unusual choice for Adams in that she hasn't done much sci-fi. (Her and Man of Steel notwithstanding.) But she's proved versatile enough to jump between genres, so this one shouldn't be a problem for her. Adams is coming off of her fifth Oscar-nominated role in David O. Russell's American Hustle, and has Tim Burton's artist biopic Big Eyes coming out later this year.
Come to think of it, Villeneuve hasn't had much experience with the genre either. The French director made a big splash in the U.S. last year with Prisoners, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman, and currently has the bizarre (yet delightful, IMO) Enemy in theaters. Previously, he broke through internationally with the war drama Incendies.
Heisserer most recently wrote and directed Hours, the Hurricane Katrina thriller starring Paul Walker. Prior to that, he wrote 2011's The Thing, Final Destination 5, and 2010's A Nightmare on Elm Street. Shawn Levy and Dan Levine are producing Story of Your Life. No start date has been announced.
