First Footage From 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Revealed In 15-Second Teaser
The first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer is set to premiere later tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live, but we have the very first footage from the film this morning in the form of a 15-second teaser. In it, Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou) asks the question that's been on the minds of moviegoers the world over since the moment this film was announced: "Who are you?"
The Guardians never quite get around to answering the question, presumably because they'll be doing so in the full trailer this evening, but we do get some big shiny explosions and glimpses of the star-studded cast — which includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista – in action. Watch the video after the jump.
Directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy opens August 1. It boasts a pretty stacked cast. In addition to the names above, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, and John C. Reilly all star.
An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits — Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand — with the galaxy's fate in the balance.
