'Veronica Mars' Trailer: "I Don't Really Do That Anymore"
High school reunions feel a bit passe in the age of Facebook and Twitter, but even those who tossed out their own ten-year invites may want to RSVP for Neptune High's.
The first Veronica Mars theatrical trailer has finally arrived, just ten months after Rob Thomas turned to Kickstarter to ask the so-called "Marshmallows" to make the long-rumored sequel a reality. And what a reality it is.The promo has everything a fan could ask for: romance, mystery, action, snark, and intrigue, not to mention cameos by everyone from Madison (Amanda Noret) to Dick (Ryan Hansen) to Officer Leo (Max Greenfield). Check it out after the jump.
As seen in the trailer, the new film sequel has Veronica (Kristen Bell), now a hotshot lawyer, returning to her P.I. roots after several years out of the game. Despite a healthy-looking relationship with Piz (Chris Lowell) (also: ugh), she can't resist the urge to help her old flame Logan (Jason Dohring) when he's accused of murder.
Naturally, this means she has to head back to Neptune and run into all of her former friends and foes along the way. Yes, it's kind of fan-service-y, but I'm not about to complain. Among those highlighted in the trailer are Wallace (Percy Daggs III), Mac (Tina Majorino), Weevil (Francis Capra), Gia (Krysten Ritter), Cliff (Daran Norris), and, of course, her trusty dad Keith (Enrico Colantoni); among those promised by Thomas and Bell at various points are... well, just about everyone else you can think of, aside from the dead characters.
Veronica Mars opens in AMC theaters and select markets starting March 14, 2014.
