New Stills And Character Details Revealed For 'The Lego Movie'
With direction by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and a voice cast that includes Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, and Will Ferrell – not to mention the timeless appeal of Legos themselves — The Lego Movie has the potential to become one of the highlights of next year's lineup. But although the first trailer was released all the way back in June, plot specifics have been kept pretty vague. Until now.
A wealth of new information has just come out about the movie, including details about and new images of all the major characters. Check 'em out and get all the latest details after the jump.
The plot, which Lord described as "The Wizard of Oz meets The Matrix," follows the uptight President Business (Ferrell) as he tries to stop Master Builders like mystic Wyldstyle (Banks) and Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman) from expressing their creativity. "We basically made a made a movie about totalitarianism for kids," said Lord.
The protagonist, however, is an ordinary Lego figure named Emmet (Pratt) who gets caught up in the adventure when Wyldstyle mistakes him for a savior called "The Special."

USA Today also shared a few general stills from the movie featuring Emmet and Wyldstyle in action.
I love that although this is a 3D, CG-animated film, it doesn't have that slick 3D, CG-animated feel. The photos almost look like they could've been snapped during the middle of a real-life play session with actual Legos. The Lego Movie opens February 7, 2014.
