Watch An Alternate Ending To 1990's 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Movie

Not sure exactly how this hit our radar this week, but it did. So let's roll with it.

The 1990 live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film made over $200 million across the world, certifying it as one of that year's most successful films. Who could forget the ending where, after defeating Shredder, Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo and Donatello spout out a slew of suitably radical adjectives before Master Splinter throws in his own, they all laugh, and the amazing song "T.U.R.T.L.E. Power" rolled over the credits?

Originally, though, that was not the end of the film. In fact the film moved on from there into an alternate ending which put a meta bow on it all. And, wouldn't you know it? That ending is on YouTube. Check it out below.

The below video is the ending of the original film, without music, followed by the alternate ending. As it was released in theaters, the credits rolled at about 51 seconds. (You can watch the whole movie here and fast-forward to 1:27 to see that.) But if you start at :51, you get the new ending.

Oh, I get it. Cause the Turtles were originally from a comic book!

The way director Steve Barron ended the film was totally fine (I remember loving it as a 10 year old) and this was a smart cut. But expect to hear more and more about this film in the coming months with a brand new Turtles movie hitting theaters next year.
