Surprise! 'Eastbound & Down' Gets A Fourth Season
Once upon a time, there were plans for three seasons of the show Eastbound & Down, and three seasons only. That plan came to fruition and the show finished with a third season finale earlier this April. But Eastbound isn't done, as HBO has ordered eight more episodes of the show. So there will be a few more hours of Kenny Powers and his fashion-forward hair for your enjoyment. (This is the part where fans of canceled series like Bored to Death and Deadwood get irritated, however.)
Earlier this year McBride said,
HBO definitely wants us, and Jody Hill and I love writing for the show. But there is other stuff we'd like to do. Both of us are ready to make jokes concerning people who don't have strange haircuts.
So what did HBO do, besides deliver a dump truck full of money to Hill, McBride, and producers Will Ferrell, Chris Hency, and Adam McKay? We don't know. We also don't know where the fourth season might pick up, or whether any of the show's various supporting cast (Steve Little, Elizabeth De Razzo, Katy Mixon, and Ferrell) might appear, or in what capacity.
