Damon Lindelof Hints 'Lost' Could Return In Some Form
Just when you thought the cryptic quotes about Lost were over with, co-creator and executive producer Damon Lindelof came out and said the following at Variety's Entertainment & Technology Summit:
It's been two years (since the series wrapped) and we told the story we wanted to tell....I do feel like the world has not seen the end of 'Lost,' but I'm not going to have any involvement.
Here we go again. Let's speculate after the jump.
The quote came from this article over at Variety were Lindelof talks about Twitter, Prometheus, Star Trek, 48fps, a whole bunch of stuff. It's a great read. But the above quote is the most inciting one.
Let's first state that this isn't the first time Lindelof has suggested Lost would come back in some form. ABC owns the rights to the show and he has freely stated in the past that, if they saw fit, they could do anything they wanted with the show. What's interesting about this quote, though, is he suggests a knowledge of something more concrete than that simple hypothesis.
So what could it be? A new show set in that world would likely just cheapen what he and fellow executive producer Carlton Cuse set out to accomplish with their sci-fi, fantasy, time-travelling, action adventure show that ran on ABC for six seasons from 2004-2010. I'd imagine something online is more likely. Possibly an interactive video game or social experience.
He could also be referring to the fact show composer Michael Giacchino has been trying to do more live Lost concerts across the world. That would qualify as "not the end of Lost."
Really it could mean anything. Or nothing. Lindelof is the master of telling us everything and nothing in a single statement and we love him for it.
What do you think his quote means, if anything at all?
