VOTD: 'The Muppets' Composer Bret McKenzie Sings 'Life's A Happy Song' With Kermit The Frog
Here's a bit of sweet to savor until The Muppets comes out. A new video has dropped of Kermit singing the opening tune from the film with its composer, Bret McKenzie. We've already been treated to glimpse of the actual sequence as it's seen in the movie, in a clip that was posted earlier this month; while you won't see more sweet moves by Jason Segel, Amy Adams, or Walter in this video, you will get to hear the rest of the song. Spoiler alert: It's adorable! Watch it after the jump.

HBO subscribers may recognize McKenzie as one-half of the band Flight of the Conchords, which had an eponymous series on the cable network. Indeed, it feels a little wrong to see McKenzie without his bandmate Jemaine Clement, especially since The Muppets is directed by the show's co-creator James Bobin. But if anyone could fill in for half of "New Zealand's 4th most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo," I suppose it'd be Kermit.
We've seen a lot from The Muppets at this point, and sometimes the danger with that kind of marketing is that audiences go into the film feeling like they've already seen half of it. But having caught The Muppets last night, I promise you there's plenty more the film has to offer. Catch it when it hits theaters November 23, 2011.
Synopsis:
On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Segel) and Mary (Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.
