Tickets For 'The Making Of Harry Potter' Studio Tour Will Go On Sale October 13 [Photo]
If you, like me, have always been bummed that Hogwarts wasn't actually real, have we got some news for you. No, the wizarding academy hasn't suddenly decided to open its doors to us Muggles — but Warner Bros. will be opening up a tour of its Leavesden soundstages, where much of the films were shot. Called "Warner Bros. Studio Tour London — The Making of Harry Potter," it's as close as you're bound to get to actually attending Professor Snape's Potions class in this lifetime.
Plans to convert part of the site to a Harry Potter-themed attraction were first reported last year, and earlier this year Warner Bros. announced that the studio would be ready for Potterphiles in Spring 2012. At the time, we wrote that tickets would be on sale sometime this year; we now know exactly when and for how much. Hit the jump for more details on the tour, including a mockup of the studio exterior.
The three-hour walking tour will cover 150,000 square feet, including two dedicated soundstages, of Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. Fans will get to walk through actual sets from the film, including the Great Hall, Dumbledore's office, Hagrid's hut, and the Gryffindor common room, all the while checking out various artifacts, props, and costumes from the franchise. A Creature Effects workshop will show visitors the animatronics that brought characters like Buckbeack the Hippogriff, Aragog, Fawkes, and the basilisk from Chamber of Secrets to life.
The tickets must be purchased in advance through the through the official site or "approved tour operators." They'll run you £28 (about $46 USD) for adults and £21 (about $35) for children.

Discuss: Will you be picking up tickets for "The Making of Harry Potter"? If so, would you mind buying extra for me so I can tag along? And maybe a couple of NYC to London round-trip plane tickets as well? Thanks!
