'Super 8' TV Spot Features New Footage
Super 8, the J. J. Abrams film produced in conjunction with Steven Spielberg that very deliberately seeks to recapture the spirit of '80s Amblin films, is looking like one of the best bets of the summer. Footage wowed audiences at CinemaCon last week, and at a media preview not long before that. A new TV spot for the film ran last night in the States, and it features a few very small bits of new footage. For those who can't get enough, the clip is after the break.

There's not a lot here, and truthfully I've only scanned it quickly because I want to see as little of the film as possible before the summer opening. With summer films getting less and less fun each year (or so it seems) I want to keep the ones that do look good as fresh as possible before diving in. But if you're all about seeing footage as soon as possible, here you go:
Super 8 stars Elle Fanning, Kyle Chandler, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basson, Joel Courtney, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills, and Amanda Michalka and opens on June 10.
In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
