Watch The Harry Potter Trio Shoot Their Final Scene

When Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint first met each other in 2000, they never could have imagined that a decade later, they'd still be portraying the same characters. And while audiences still have one final Harry Potter movie to look forward to, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on July 15, the three Gryffindor's have long since finished filming. Director David Yates filmed both parts of Deathly Hallows simultaneously and, as it turned out, the final shot for all three actors actually appeared in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. The DVD of that film comes out on April 15 and, on it, there's a segment that shows the filming of that final shot. ABC Family recently showed a snippet of that DVD feature and you can watch it below.

Is it just me or was that scene kind of anti-climactic? Why would they save that shot to be the last one? My only thought is that during some reshoots that was the only shot featuring all three actors together. Either way, it's a historic moment in a historic series.

More interesting to me, though, is Warner Brothers actually pushing this DVD release. Who in their right mind would buy the DVD or Blu-ray of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 knowing that, not only is part two coming out, but part two marks the end of the whole series and means a huge box set is inevitable? The answer is probably parents who'd rather pay $20 rather than have to explain to their kids why they can't watch the movie until several months later but it still seems pretty pointless.
