Cool Stuff: Steampunk Star Wars

I know, I know. We've already shown you steampunk Star Wars action figures, a working steampunk R2-D2 and steampunk Boba Fett and Leia costumes– not to mention a steampunk ray gun, a steampunk flux capacitor, and a steampunk Ghostbusters t-shirt. (Wow, words really do lose all meaning once you've typed them enough times. Steampunk.) But bear with us, because Bjorn Hurri's elegant steampunk Star Wars illustrations are worth checking out. For those who haven't heard of steampunk (have you not been paying attention to our site? Tsk tsk), our own Peter Sciretta has summed it up thusly:

What is Steampunk you say? According to Wikipedia, Steampunk is a subgenre of fantasy and speculative fiction which denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used — usually the 19th century. The stories are often set in Victorian era England — but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date.

Nerd Approved posted a gallery of Hurri's Star Wars art, which includes steampunk renditions of Leia, Boba Fett, and C-3PO. My personal favorite is the steampunk Stormtrooper — I love the delicate designs on his armor. Although I also enjoy how badass steampunk Yoda looks with that pipe.
