Movie Trailer: 'Mars Needs Moms'
We've seen a poster and one image from Mars Needs Moms, the Robert Zemeckis-produced Disney film that adapts Berkeley Breathed's book of the same name. Both suggested that quite a few liberties had been taken with the material, and now there's a trailer to show just how far Disney has taken it.
First thing I thought was: iD is doing great cutscenes for their latest game. There's something about the look of some of the tech that just screams 'Doom' to me. (Probably just me.) Hoping we don't spend too much time on Earth because the scenes at home look...weird. Once Milo's mom is stolen by Martians and he ends up in space, things start to look a lot better — there's far more stuff on screen, at least. That said, I don't watch this trailer and actually want to watch the movie. So that might be a problem. (Or not, since this suggests the movie is squarely aimed at kids, who might just love it.)
Mars Needs Moms is directed by Simon Wells and stars the voices (and some likenesses) of Seth Green, Dan Fogler, Elisabeth Harnois, Mindy Sterling, Kevin Cahoon and Joan Cusack. It will be released on March 11, 2011.Yahoo will give you the trailer in HD.
Take out the trash, eat your broccoli—who needs moms, anyway? Nine-year-old Milo (Seth Green) finds out just how much he needs his mom (Joan Cusack) when she's nabbed by Martians who plan to steal her mom-ness for their own young. Produced by the team behind "Disney's A Christmas Carol" and "The Polar Express," "Mars Needs Moms" showcases Milo's quest to save his mom—a wild adventure in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D that involves stowing away on a spaceship, navigating an elaborate, multi-level planet and taking on the alien nation and their leader (Mindy Sterling). With the help of a tech-savvy, underground earthman named Gribble (Dan Fogler) and a rebel Martian girl called Ki (Elisabeth Harnois), Milo just might find his way back to his mom—in more ways than one.
