New Release Dates For 'Drive Angry 3D' And 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter'
Briefly: Release date news items are rarely all that intriguing, so I almost feel as if I should apologize for the minor deluge of these articles over the past 24 hours. After Universal announced a whole slate of films for the coming two years, Fox has spoken up, too. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov, produced by him and Tim Burton, and with a cast yet to be announced, will hit on June 22, 2012. That sandwiches the film in between Pixar's Brave and Star Trek 2.
(Recap: That's based on Seth Grahame-Smith's book in which Abraham Lincoln's mother was a victim of the supernatural, which pushes him toward a life of slaying monsters and slavery.)
Meanwhile, Summit has changed the date for Drive Angry 3D, pushing it back two weeks to February 25, 2011. The film from Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer (who are also tackling the new Hellraiser for Dimension) stars Nicolas Cage and Amber Heard. Looks like it might be a fun, almost old-school auto/action movie.
