Howard Stark Will Appear In Captain America
Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger takes place during World War II, which makes it hard to do a lot of the Marvel Universe cameos we've become accustomed to over the past couple years. But you can expect to see one Stark in the film, just not Tony Stark.Jon Favreau has revealed to MTV that Tony's father Howard Stark will appear in Captain America:
"Yeah, because he was around then. ['Captain America'] is World War II. It wouldn't be that same actor, probably, because he would be much younger.[Howard Stark] was starting out during that time, and [he] was involved with the war effort, much like Howard Hughes."
Maybe Howard Stark will become responsible for inventing Captain America's shield?
In Iron Man 2, Howard Stark is played by John Slattery, who appears in the film via a video reel that is part of the Stark Expo. Iron Man 2 also reveals some interesting details about Howard Stark's past which may be a precursor to his appearance in Captain America.
