Actress Brittany Murphy Dies At 32
TMZ is reporting that actress Brittany Murphy died this morning after going into full cardiac arrest. She was 32 years old. [Update: KTLA in Los Angeles has confirmed Murphy's death with the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.]
Murphy rose to fame when she appeared in Amy Heckerling's Clueless way back in 1995. More recently, she's appeared in films such as Sin City, Little Black Book, and Uptown Girls. I can't say I'm deeply familiar with her entire filmography, but I've consistently been impressed with the quality of her work. In recent days, I enjoyed her voice work in Futurama and she held her own opposite Eminem in 8 Mile. She was also the best part of Don't Say a Word.
Murphy struck me as immensely talented, and an actress who never quite got the recognition that she deserved. Her death at such a young age is incredibly saddening. More details of the circumstances surrounding her death will likely emerge later, but in the meantime, feel free to look over her filmography and leave fond remembrances in the comments below.
